District Level Sports School 2023: A unique and ambitious project for the development of sports that combines Sports with Education in partnership with reputed schools under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. Under the scheme, talented players are nurtured with scientific training by qualified trainers and coaches. All other expenses are bare by the government in partnership with schools. This scheme has been introduced in the year 2013-14 by the Government of Gujarat.
Reputed schools in the state having sports-related infrastructure, high-quality education, and hostel facilities are selected. Under this scheme among which the following schools have been selected as sports schools from 2014-15 to 2022-23.

Talented players discovered from Khelmahakumbh are included in District level sports schools as Young Talent (Multi Sports Exposure) and Proven Talent (those who have achieved in a particular sport) under the scheme.
Young Talent (YT) and Proven Talent (PT) players are given admission under the DLSS scheme and the benefits like free education, books, stationery, accommodation, Food, school uniform as well as the latest equipment and sports kit, etc. are provided.
The selected players are given intensive morning-evening training in a scientific manner by expert coaches. Also, sports training is provided to the school children under the in-school program in 5 Physical Education periods.

The vision for the DLSS Scheme is to inculcate interest in the field of sports among the sportspersons of the state, to achieve the highest achievements in the field of sports, and to enable them to compete in national and international level competitions.
